For the past couple of years we have been experimenting with the sound of new rims vs. prewar rims. We found the better sounding prewar banjos converted had non consistent layer dimensions. By using a middle layer of 5/16" the same as our prewar rims we found the tone became fuller with sharper decay.

Our rims will only be sold cut to fit your Tone Ring and Flange by Robin Smith. Ship us your parts or buy new ones and we will ship everything back to you. Examine our picture of a cut Prewar rim so you can see how the layer thicknesses were built.
